1967 Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster - $1.3m

Correct 427 CI side oiler V-8 engine. Correct 4-barrel carburetor and intake. 4-speed manual transmission. Factory correct Rangoon Red. Sunburst knock-off wheels. History listed in the Shelby Registry.

Recently restored in April 2018 to original as-delivered spec. CSX3318 is a multiple award winner.
The "side oiler" Ford 7.0 L (427 cu in) FE engine equipped with a single 4-barrel 780 CFM Holley carburetor was rated at 425 hp at 6000 rpm and 480 lb⋅ft at 3700 rpm of torque.

In 2019 a 1967 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster with a scant 1900 original miles sold for $1,792,500 at RM Sotheby’s, setting an auction record for a non-competition-spec Cobra 427. The sale broke the previous record of $1,705,000 at RM’s Monterey auction in 2014.
This example made $ 1.3m in 2020 against an estimate of $1.3m to $1.5m at Mecum.
