This Cougar GT-E might be one of the finest examples of its species. Not a single part was ignored in this meticulously thorough rotisserie restoration. 393 examples were produced in 1968. Of those, 356 were fitted with a 427 cubic-inch V8 engine and the remaining 37 packed a 428 cubic-inch Cobra Jet. The engine was the one Ford used to homologate its NASCAR racing program. Virtually all Cougar GT-E models came equipped with the Select-Shift Merc-O-Matic, or C6 transmisson.

A must-see for any Ford or investment auto enthusiast, the 1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E is highly desirable. How so? In 2011 a top tier example made $181k. This pristine example made $132k at Mecum.

Al Capone's bulletproof 1928 Cadillac

The 1928 Cadillac Town Sedan has only 1,111 miles on the odometer and a host of hardware. It features one-inch-thick bulletproof glass windows all around, and the side windows can even be cranked up to allow a two-inch gap at the bottom for gunmen to shoot a Thompson submachine gun. The back window opens as well to allow rear-firing. The car was outfitted with a police siren, flashing police lights, and a police radio hidden in the glove box. The car sold for $341,000 in 2014.

The green and black paint was similar to Chicago’s police cars. The infamous Caddy has lived a quiet, little used life, occupying museums.

The U.S. Treasury Department impounded Capone’s Caddy after he was arrested in 1931. When FDR went to Congress to ask for a declaration of a state of war on December 8, 1941, he rode in this Cadillac.

The car is offerred at $1m with no takers thus far.

The Mazda Furai Concept Supercar

The Furai concept was slated to undergo testing in order to enter Le Mans racing. That was until disaster struck. In the span of minutes, the car that was to mark the return of the rotary engine was reduced to cinders and ashes.

The Furai is forever memorialized in video games but is no longer of this world.
