Hongqi S9

The Hongqi S9 is from the Chinese-US startup Silk-FAW, a joint venture between China's FAW and American company Silk EV. Power comes from a brand new 4.0-liter V8 with electric turbocharging for a total of around 880 horsepower. A pair of electric motors increase that output to 1,400 hp. Hongqi is short on details but claims the car will deliver 0-62 mph in 1.9 seconds and a top speed of over 250 mph. Hongqi is currently accepting orders for the S9 with 99 expected to be built. The first could be delivered as early as 2022.

Price for those smitten is rumoured to be something around $1.9m.

1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast - $1.8m

S/N 6305. No. 15 of 36 produced between 1964-1966. Reputedly the only Superfast factory-delivered in Nero. Ferrari Classiche Certification Red Book. Purchased new by Count Guido Monzino. Original matching numbers 5.0L/400 HP Tipo 208 V-12 engine. Comprehensive engine rebuild.

Ferrari’s wealthiest and most demanding clients were offered the 400 Superamerica 1959-1964 and 500 Superfast 1964-66. Powering the 500 Superfast was the ultimate development of Aurelio Lampredi’s “Long Block” V-12 engine. Designated Tipo 208, the 500 SF engine displaced nearly 5.0L—4961 cc.

Production included 25 “first series” cars, followed by a dozen “second series” examples, which shared updates with the 330 GT including a 5-speed gearbox. This car was estimated $2m to $2.5m at Mecum.

2010 Pagani Zonda R Evolution - $6.5m

If you are a zillionaire that doesn't fart around, a 2010 Pagani Zonda R Evolution supercar is available pronto via a direct sale for US$6.5m. This is the fifth of 10 examples produced by Pagani between 2009 and 2011.

The car is powered by a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR-derived, 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 800 horsepower paired to a six-speed sequential transaxle. Top speed is 230 mph.

1977 Toyota Corolla SR5 Liftback - $16,500

Power is provided by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes air conditioning, 13″ mag-type wheels, and an AM/FM stereo. Some 56k miles are on the clock. Proving beauty is in the eye of the beholder at Bring a Trailer.

Acura NSX GT3 Evo22

This is the last year for the NSX, but Acura uveiled an updated NSX GT3 Evo22 race car, which starts racing in 2022 and is homologated through 2024. It is eligible for multiple competitions.

NSX race cars skip the electric motors of their road-going counterparts. Drive is to the rear wheels only. The race cars also use a 6-speed sequential transmission instead of the road car's 9-speed dual-clutch.

LaFerrari # 500 = $ 7m

The convertible sold for $7 million (£5,490,777.46) in late 2016.

The LaFerrari was auctioned at RM Sotheby’s in Florida, and went for more than $1.8m (£1,411,914.20) over the top estimate. 499 examples were created in the original production run.

Proceeds from the sale of the car, which was offered from Ferrari’s private collection, went to help rebuild the central region of Italy after it was struck by devastating earthquakes.

1913 Merryweather Fire Engine. 100k
