1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi - $75k high bid

8,019 miles. 2.9L SOHC V-8. 5-Speed manual. Rosso Corsa over nero interior. Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system. 4-wheel disc brakes. Air conditioning. Removable Targa top. Power windows. Choked with emissions regulations, the 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi produced about 205 hp in US-market models. Key features included pop-up headlights, a gated shifter, Pioneer cassette stereo, Veglia instruments and Campagnolo wheels with Michelin TRX tires. Reviews praised the 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi's iconic design but panned its performance and weak braking.

0 to 60 mph came in 6.7 seconds with a quarter mile drag time of 15.1. While affordable compared to other Ferrari, the 308 GTSi is hugely expensive to maintain and repairs moreso. 1972 AMC Gremlin X - $16,500

304 CI engine. 4-speed manual. Positraction rear end. Panned as one of the worst cars ever produced, the 1972 Gremlin was available with a 304 V8 rated at a conservative 150 hp. The V8 Gremlin was referred to as a poor man's Corvette, able to outrun many of the far more expensive pony cars. Price in 1972 was a bargain basement $2,200. 3,017 units of the 61,717 produced carried the V8.

2024 Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider - CHF 2'706'250 ($3.4m USD)

New with 97km on the odometer. One of 85 examples of Aston Martin's Formula One-bred hypercar. Finished in Gloss Storm Purple paint with full-body paint protection film. Detailed with Trophy Silver accents and extensive exposed gloss carbon fiber. Equipped with optional Matte Black, Diamond Turned Aluminium Honeycomb Wheels. Focused cockpit in Phantom Grey Alcantara. Equipped with £237,500 worth of bespoke options from Aston Martin's "Q" division.

The Valkyrie paired a Cosworth-built 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with Rimac's hybrid KERS system. The result was a combined output of 1,140 horsepower, which came close to achieving a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio at 1,270 kg. The car's radical aerodynamic design generated massive downforce through venturi tunnels and sophisticated underbody aerodynamics. Price new in 2024 was a rock bottom US$3.3m. Bugatti Tourbillon

In 2021 Volkswagen struck a deal that saw control of the Bugatti brand pass to Croatia’s Rimac, which now owns 55% of a joint venture with Porsche as the minority owner. The first new model since Rimac took over is the Bugatti Tourbillon. Two electric motors and two inverters feed 600 horsepower to the front wheels. In the rear is another 200-horsepower electric motor and a V-16 internal combustion engine. The 64-valve, naturally aspirated 8.3-liter engine uses four throttle bodies and is rated at 1,000 horsepower. 0-60 mph is 2 seconds flat. Top speed is a tire destroying 277 mph.

If you have to ask the price of the Bugatti Tourbillon, you can’t afford one. The Bugatti Tourbillon starts at about $4.1m USD. With options, the price can reach over $5.5m. If that number doesn't scare you, the first available build slot is in 2029.

1970 Ford Torino Twister Special - $236k

Ford’s “Twister Special” was a regional promotion out of the Kansas City district in support of the Kansas City International Raceway. One of 90 Torino Twister Specials produced in 1970. One of 30 produced with a 4-speed manual transmission. Original build sheets and window sticker. Matching numbers 429 Cobra Jet V-8 engine. Rochester carburetor 4-barrel carburetor. Close ratio 4-speed transmission 3.50 Traction-Lok differential.

All the Torino Cobra Twister Specials were 429's either CJ or SCJ. All were in Vermilion (Calypso Coral).

The car appeared without reserve at Mecum.

2023 Ford Shelby Super Snake Speedster - $137k

173 miles. Number 90 of 98 built for 2023. CSM 23SS0290. Supercharged 5.0L/825 HP V-8 engine. Polished Whipple supercharger. Shelby Borla active exhaust system. 6-speed manual transmission. Shelby by Brembo brake system with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. Shelby forged aluminum wheels. Shadow Black exterior with Blue stripes. Super Snake ram air hood with functional vents. Widened aluminum front fenders. Black interior with carbon fiber trim.

With 825hp on tap and 725 ft/lbs of twist the 2023 Ford Shelby Super Snake Speedster boasts a 0 to 60 mph of about 3.5 seconds. Rock bottom base price was $124k. The cars were mostly bought by those expecting to flip the car at a profit. There is no shortage of low mileage examples for sale.
