1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro RS - $165k

1 of 58 COPO Camaros produced with Rally Sport option in 1969. 29,323 miles. 427/425 HP Turbo Jet V-8 engine. Automatic transmission. Hugger Orange exterior. Aluminum intake manifold and bell housing. ZL-2 ducted hood. Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Harrison HD core radiator. Front disc brakes. 12-bolt Positraction rear end.
Don Yenko instigated the factory installation of potent 427 engine packages for 1969. Using Chevrolet’s Central Office Production Order (COPO) system, GM’s 400 CI engine-displacement limit for the Camaro (and Chevelle) was shattered. Designated COPO 9561, Yenko unleashed one of the fastest and most collectible of all American cars.
A part of the truly spectacular Todd Werner Collection, this example made $165k against an estimate of $250k to $300k.
