1971 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T - $550k high bid

Matching numbers drivetrain. 426/425 HP Hemi V-8 engine. 4-speed manual transmission. Original Black exterior paint. Original Black interior. Factory date-code correct 15-inch wheels. Power disc brakes. Power steering. Factory Shaker hood. Original broadcast sheet.

Expensive when new, the Hemi Challenger R/T was never common, and insurance rates and increased emission controls would cause the option to end forever in 1971.
Dual 4-barrel carbs, a high-flow exhaust system, a NASCAR-circuit engineered reciprocating assembly and 10.25 compression were just a part of it. A heavy-duty A833 4-speed manual transmission was mated to the Sure Grip Dana 60 differential.
70 Hemi Challengers were produced in 1971 with only 36 known to exist. This example being offered at Mecum was high bid to $550k.
