| Superbirds were equipped with the top-of-the-line 426 cu in (7.0L) Hemi engine with a pair of four barrel Carter AFB carburetors producing 425 hp. The car could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. It was developed specifically for NASCAR racing. Increasing emissions regulations, insurance spikes for high performance cars and NASCAR's ban on aero cars made 1970 the only production year. |  |
