Ferrari 250GT LWB California Spider

Considered by many to be among the most beautiful cars ever built, the Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider represents some of the most expensive cars on the planet. The car was the first Ferrari created specifically for the North American market. Of the 50 California spyders produced on the long wheelbase chassis, nine were equipped with lightweight aluminum alloy bodies and competition features.

Since 2008, eight Ferrari 250 GT California Spiders have sold for more than $10m, with the highest price doubling that.

The Ferrari California Spider is one of the most desirable Ferraris and sports cars in the world.
The engine is a 2,953 cc V-12 with three Weber carbs and a 9.8-to-1 compression ratio. It punches out 280hp at 7,000 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 5,500 rpm. In total, 108 were built, 50 LWB cars and 58 SWB cars.
This 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Competizione, which ran at Le Mans in 1960, sold for $13.5m at the 2016 Gooding & Company Pebble Beach auction.
