1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV - €2,423,750

The top sale at a recent RM Sothebys event was a newly restored, Polo Storico certified 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV by Bertone that reached a sale price of €2,423,750.
In 1997 the Miura underwent a 4-year extensive restoration. The chassis, interior, and bodywork were restored to an as-new condition, along with rebuilding the engine and gearbox.

2019 McLaren Senna - $1m

Unveiled to the world in late 2017, the McLaren Senna was still in production as of 2020. All 500 units of the track-ready supercar have been sold before it made its public debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This example crossed the block in January for $1m. The Senna was priced from almost $1m when new and this example is fitted with $360k worth of options. The supercar was driven for only 450 miles, so the hit is significant. Drivetrain includes a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 that boasts 789 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The Senna hits 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 211 mph.

Ferraris headline Glendale Mecum

On March 20 some 1,200 odd cars crossed the block, headlined by Steve Todhunter’s collection, which includes 20 vehicles with seven pristine, low-mile Ferraris.
The F12tdf was limited to 799 units. The 6.3-liter V12 produces 769 hp at 8,500 rpm and 520 lb-ft through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This example has 449 miles on the clock. The supercar is capable of sprinting to 60 mph (96 kph) in less than three seconds and exceed the 210-mph (338-kph) mark. The car was originally owned by Roger Penske. It made $880k against an estimate of $900k - $1m.
599 Ferrari 599 GTOs were produced worldwide with 125 assigned to the U.S. market. Its front-midmounted 6.0L V-12 engine generates 661 peak HP and 458 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed F1 automatic gearbox. Top speed is pegged at 208 MPH. 175 miles. The car made $770k, besting a $750k high estimate.
2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina. 1,507 Miles. No. 4 of 448 produced. Fiorano handling package. 5.5L/485 HP 48-valve 65-degree V-12 engine. Four overhead camshafts. 6-speed manual transmission. The car made $440k.

1967 Corvette L88 - $2.69m

One of 20 L88 Corvettes produced in 1967. The only Duntov and Triple Diamond-awarded 1967 Corvette L88 still equipped with its original engine. The only known Sunfire Yellow L88 Corvette. Bloomington Gold Certified. Participated in the L88 Explosion display at Bloomington Gold in 2018. NCRS Top Flight Award.
The coupe has undergone a 10-year, frame-off restoration with each component, nut and bolt sourced from the original car or from NOS suppliers.

The car features a heavy-duty M22 “Rock Crusher” 4-speed transmission, K66 transistorized ignition, J56 heavy-duty disc brakes, J50 power brakes, F41 heavy duty suspension, C48 heater delete, and a cowl induction L88 hood.
The last 1967 L88 Corvette coupe sold for $3.8m at Barrett-Jackson in 2014.

Pagani Huayra R

The track only monster features a bespoke naturally aspirated engine, dubbed the Pagani V12-R. It displaces 6.0 liters and offers up 850 hp at 8250 rpm and 553 lb-ft of torque between 5500 and 8300 rpm. Redline is a screaming 9000 rpm. Pagani says the engine weighs 436 pounds and is bolted directly to the carbon-fiber monocoque frame.
Pagani targeted a downforce figure of 2204 lbs at 199 mph. The Huayra R starts at 2.6m euros plus tax. Pagani plans to build 30 examples.

The car made $1.37m against an estimate of $1.3m to $1.5m.

2013 Aston Martin V12 Zagato

Sixty-one examples of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato were built, despite an initial planned production run of 150 units. The car is powered a 6.0-liter quad-cam V12 totaling 510 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. That is routed to the rear rubber via a six-speed manual.
This 2013 Zagato V12 is currently up for auction on Bring A Trailer. Bid is $ 500k

Replica Batmobile

A replica Batmobile of the one driven by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns, is up for grabs. It’s offered at Bonham’s MPH March Auction in London where it’s expected to bring £20k-30k. This Batmobile is powered by a 5.7-liter small block Chevy on a chassis from a first generation Ford Mustang.
The car was built over a decade ago by a UK businessman. The bill for the build was around £150,000k.

1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible

One of 96 4-speed W-30 Convertibles produced in 1970. 455 CI V-8 engine. Winters aluminum intake. Forced air induction. 4-barrel carburetor. Dual exhaust. 4-speed transmission. Front disc brakes. Twilight Blue with White convertible top. Black bucket seat interior with center console.
The 442’s 455 CI Rocket V-8 produced 365 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque. The W-30 package added more horsepower courtesy of “Select-Fit” engine components, outside-air induction and low-restriction air cleaner, and a higher-lift, longer-duration camshaft.

2015 Porsche 918 Spyder tops RM Sotheby’s

The Porsche 918s unique Liquid Chrome Blue Metallic finish helped it achieve CHF1,001,000. The Porsche 918 Spyder is a limited-production mid-engine plug-in hybrid. The 918 Spyder is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.6 L (4,593 cc) V8 engine, developing 599 hp at 8,700 rpm, with two electric motors delivering an additional 282 hp.
The car cost US$845,000. The 918 Spyder was sold out in December 2014 and production ended in June 2015 with 918 units.

1965 Z16 Chevelle

The Z16 Chevelle was Chevy’s foray into the high-performance, muscle-car wars that had been sparked by Pontiac’s GTO in 1964. 396/375 HP V-8 engine. Authentic documented Z16. Frame-off restoration. One of only 201 built. #36 in the Z16 Chevelle registry Documentation of ownership back to new. 4-speed manual transmission. Power steering. Power brakes. 6,000 RPM tachometer. 160 MPH speedometer.
Finished in Code Y6 Crocus Yellow exterior, its thought less than 80 cars survive. This example made $187k.

Bonham has announced an auction called Supercars on Sunset, a Los Angeles sale scheduled to take place April 10. An early highlight is a 2007 Saleen S7-LM, one of three examples of the 1,000-horsepower special-edition sports coupe built. It has 300 miles on the clock and is estimated at $1m to $1.3m.

221 Lamborghini SVJ recalled

When one forks out over half a million on a supercar like the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, you expect it to be built with quality standards. Among those would be a hood that doesn't come flying open. The problem affects 221 examples of the 2018-2021 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Coupe built between July 4, 2018, and January 15, 2021. This recall has an estimated 100% defect rate.

1970 Chevrolet Yenko Deuce - $121k

1 of 175 Yenko Deuce Novas produced. COPO 9010 LT1 engine package. COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion package. LT1 350/360 HP solid lifter engine. 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter. 4.10 rear axle ratio. Hood-mounted tach. Power front disc brakes. Fathom Blue with Black interior.
Yenko's Sportscar team completed the conversion of the COPO Novas by adding the SS wheels, Yenko badges, decals and stripes, a Dixco hood tach and a laundry list of performance options. The total of 175 cars consist of 122 four speeds and 53 automatics.
The engine is Chevrolet's 350 cubic-inch, 5.7 liter small-block LT1 V8, capable of producing 360 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. This kind of engine was normally found only in Corvettes and Camaro SS models.

The Deuce quickly garnered a reputation for running and winning against more powerful and heavier machinery. These cars have their own circle and rarely come up for public auction. When they do prices are high. In 2016 a top tier deuce made $160k.
