A 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT headed to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at Gooding and Company in 2019. What makes this 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT special are two things. The first is that it’s not a production model. It’s a prototype that Ferrari used for testing and development. Ferrari built 152 units of the production Dino Berlinetta GT, making it both rare and valuable.

Hitler parade car - $7m high bid

The Adolph Hitler parade car that received global attention, and which reached a high bid of $7m, rolled off the block unsold in 2018. The car used to transport Hitler was outfitted with additional protection such as armor plating.

The windshield is bullet resistant, and an armored panel can be raised up at the back behind the seats.

The car was used as a guest car for visiting dignitaries, and for Nazi parades. It was used between 1939 and 1941.

The Mercedes 770K had a supercharged 7.7-liter inline-8, making 155hp naturally aspirated, 230hp with supercharger engaged, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.

The car was ofered by Worldwide Auctioneers at the company's Scottsdale auction on January 17.

Ben Chen lost control of his Gemballa Mirage GT, an ultra-rare modified Porsche Carrera GT, the morning of April 7 and smashed it into a parked Toyota Sienna, totaling both vehicles. Chen was charged with a DUI and reckless driving. Five parked vehicles were struck, police said. Chen is no stranger to wrecking expensive vehicles. In 2013 he smashed a McLaren MP4-12C while ferrying two passengers in Texas. A Gemballa Mirage GT is likely worth north of $800k.

1969 Dodge Daytona - $120k high bid

A 1969 Dodge Daytona is presented as Lot F313 at Indianapolis. Once widely overlooked by buyers, Dodge Daytonas (and their Plymouth Superbird counterparts) have climbed in both popularity and value over the years. In 2015 a 1969 Dodge Hemi Daytona from the Wellborn Collection sold at auction in Kissimmee, Florida, for $900,000.

Dodge built a total of 503 Daytonas in 1969, primarily for NASCAR homologation purposes. 70 shipped with the 426-cu.in., 425-horsepower Hemi V-8, and just 20 of these came with the four-speed manual transmission.

A 1969 Dodge Daytona changed hands for $330k in 2018 at Barrett Jackson.

In 2017 a 1969 Dodge Hemi Daytona, 1 of approximately 39 cars known to exist, was high bid at $ 750k.

Lamborghini Aventador goes swimming in Thailand

A supercar driver drove his Lamborghini Aventador into a dirty canal. Jakrawan Sukhumkanjana, 40, skidded off the road and landed in the water in Pathum Thani, central Thailand. Shocked locals watched as he crawled out of sports car - worth some $800k. The driver left the scene and was not seriously hurt. He later came back with a tow truck to retrieve his car. He blamed another driver for causing the accident.

Late production European-spec example completed in December of 1967. Delivered new in January 1968. The Ferrari 275 is a series of front-engined V12-powered grand touring automobiles with two-seater coupé and spider bodies produced by Ferrari between 1964 and 1968. An updated 275 GTB/4 was introduced in 1966, with a revised four overhead camshaft engine producing 300 hp.

One of the most significant and desirable Ferrari road cars, 275 GTB/4 No. 10735 is a spectacular machine.

The chassis, body, engine, gearbox, suspension and brakes are original, with correct, original factory stampings and tags.

The car made $2.75m against an estimate of $2.5m to $3m.

1969 Chevolet Corvette L88 - $600k

One of 116 L88-powered Corvettes built in the final year of L88 production. The engine was a masterpiece of raw power, combining a reinforced cast-iron block with a forged rotating assembly, 12.5:1 compression and a free-breathing top end incorporating big-valve aluminum heads, a solid-lifter cam and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake manifold.

It was officially rated at 430 HP at 5,200 RPM, but was more like 560 HP at 6,400 RPM. Equipped with the race-prepared L88 427/430 HP big-block with first-design closed-chamber aluminum heads, Muncie M22 “Rock Crusher” close-ratio 4-speed and 4.56 Positraction rear end, K66 transistor ignition and J56 heavy-duty brakes. This example is a multiple award winner.

The car underwent a painstaking restoration that was completed in 1988. It subsequently was included in the 1988 and 2008 Bloomington Gold Special Collection.
