1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback - $340k high bid

61,456 miles. Shelby no. 1974. Concours rotisserie restoration. Dual quad 428 CI Police Interceptor V-8 engine. Toploader 4-speed manual transmission. Nightmist Blue Metallic. Original Stewart Warner gauges. Inboard lights. Deluxe Magstar wheels. Power steering and disc brakes. Interior decor group. Sport deck rear seat.
For 1967, the GT500 was added to the lineup, equipped with a 428 cu in (7.0 L) Interceptor V8 engine with two 600 CFM Holley four-barrel carburetors mated to a mid-rise aluminum intake manifold. Power was 355 bhp at 5,400 rpm and 420 lb⋅ft at 3200 rpm of torque. In May 1967 the decision was made to terminate the California-based Shelby operation. On August 18, 1967, a small carryover Shelby staff, along with the remaining engineering cars, was sent to Ionia, Michigan. Shelby had substantially less involvement. 2048 cars were produced.
This 100% pure pristine example failed to change hands at Mecum. Hagerty suggests a concours 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback is trending around $ 290k.
