The 1967 Corvette L89 Coupe was a limited-production, high-performance option that added aluminum cylinder heads to the L71 427/435 horsepower V8 engine. It was often referred to as "the L88 for the streets".
 | 1 of 16 produced, Bloomington Gold Special Collection, NCRS Duntov Mark of Excellence, MCACN Triple Diamond, Alloy head L89 427/435 HP V-8. The L89 option enhanced the potent L71 427/435 Tri-Power V8 with aluminum cylinder heads, shaving 75 pounds off the front end for improved handling. Unlike the race-bred L88, the L89 could be ordered with a radio and heater. |
 | Assembled on the final day of 1967 Corvette production, the car is one of only two L89s equipped with K19 smog equipment, a mandatory feature for California. It also boasts F41 suspension, an M21 4-speed manual transmission, N14 side-mounted exhaust, K66 transistor ignition, and J50 power brakes. Painstakingly restored, the hammer fell at $1,705,000. Here. |
A masterpiece of Corvette history, this L89 Coupe is one of the most desirable and rarest big-block Corvettes ever made.
