1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

1 of 847 V-code 4-speed Challenger R/Ts produced in 1970. Unrestored. Original High Impact Plum Crazy paint. White sport stripe package. Original V-Code 440 Six Pack engine. Dual exhaust with chrome tips. D21 HD 4-speed manual transmission. Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. A34 Super Track Pak with 4.10 gears and Dana 60 differential. Power steering. Power brakes with front discs.
White Bucket seats and center console with woodgrain appliqué. Rallye gauge package with tachometer. Woodgrain interior accents. Music Master AM radio. Locking flip-top fuel door. Rallye wheels. From model years 1970 to 1974, the first generation Dodge Challenger pony car was built using the Chrysler E platform in hardtop and convertible body styles sharing major components with the Plymouth Barracuda.
Optional R/T engines were the 375 hp 440 cu in (7.2 L) Magnum, the 390 hp 440 cu in (7.2 L) Six-Pack and the 426 cu in (7.0 L) Hemi rated at 425 hp at 5,000 rpm and 490 lb⋅ft at 4,000 rpm. The R/T was available in either the hardtop or convertible. The Challenger R/T came with a Rallye instrument cluster that included a 150 mph (240 km/h) speedometer, an 8,000 rpm tachometer and an oil pressure gauge. The shaker hood scoop was not available after 1971. This example appears at Mecum.
